Neodandi - House of Couture

Recently had the opportunity to work with the designers from Neodandi House of Couture in Pioneer Square (Seattle).  We had the pleasure of shooting a good portion of their 2009 line up.

These are just a few samples from their Women's line.

Thanks to NiiLartey, Ullie, Richael, Lance, and Debby...  many, many more to come.

This was the start of a wonderful symbiotic relationship - we just finished shooting their Fall Men's line as well... so stay tuned for some more cool examples :)

Sports / Fitness with Danae

Last week we worked with Danae in a Sports/Fitness series for Sports Unlimited. We did a TON of different looks - here are some selects.

Lighting was a challenge, as these were in full midday sun - super bright.

Thanks (as always) to my awesome assistant/partner - Deb (the left side of my brain)!

Lifetime.com: Project Runway Shots

Had the pleasure of working with Logan Neitzel from Project Runway Season 6 to capture and prep his Spring '09 Collection runway images for his website.

Photoshop Lecture at Adobe

I was asked to lecture on my processing workflow using Adobe LightRoom 2 & Photoshop CS4 by the Seattle Area Photoshop Users Group (SAPUG) - event hosted by the Adobe University in Seattle (Fremont).

It was a blast, but I completely ran out of time!

Note to Self: 2 hours is nowhere NEAR long enough when you get 50+ questions from an interactive audience! Lesson learned - talk less!
It was great to meet a ton of other local PS afficionados and compare techniques/tips.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone... and yes, I'll definitely sign up for a "Round 2" (this time JUST on advanced Photoshop techniques)!

Studio Lighting Addition

Finally got a chance to utilize the new in-home studio, and i LOVE the lighting setup. Added a new 22" beauty dish with grid, and it seems to have been the key missing ingredient. These were from a test shoot with the amazing Vanessa Geneiva.

Fashion Kick-start

Immersed into the world of fashion photography with the help of Dean Zulich of VH1's "The Shot" fame. I shot this for a "Personality" challenge. Surrounding Dean (with the cameras) in this shot are Logan Neitzel (Seattle top fashion designer, and contestant on the upcoming Project Runway Season 6), and Seattle top models Leah Ferrel, Michelle Green, James Flu, and Eriq Haritonov.

Since that initial workshop, Deb and I have been assisting Dean on a bunch of studio & location shoots (along with Nicholas Heilweil & Brian Chambers).

Check out all of their blogs on my Blog List! ----->

This also led to eventually shooting Logan's "Spring 09" line at Seattle Fashion Week. Those images can be seen at LoganNeitzel.com in the Collections gallery.

The one that started it all

This was one of my first real "concept" shoots a few years ago. It was the first time I'd used multiple lights with a model (Bryan) and 2 assistants (Rai & Ben) at a remote location.

It kicked off a series of crazy ideas, and lit the fire.

Word of warning: Knights in full chain-mail walking down the street with real broadswords don't get a second look in Seattle.
What's up with THAT ?!
